I am working on a website to spread positive news and stories in an environment which is otherwise full of negative news - newspapers and news channels are a case in point. I wish to gather real positive news and stories from as many sources as possible through internet. Would be grateful if you could tell me an efficient and effective way of doing so. Thanks.

You could also give Topikality a try if you have specific keywords you are using in your searchesAnother similar option would, of course, be google alerts

Excellent site, keep up the good work. I read a lot of forums on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your forum. Thanks.

My
first blog
, the one you will see linked to my name under MUO authors does the same thing. So Maroor, you do have some competition in this area :)What I do (or used to do) is watch popular media for positive stories. One site you can always count on is Digg. Another site I use is Reader's Digest. There are certain keywords like 'good news', 'positive news' etc with which you can do a Google search or Twitter search.

Hi Saikat,Thank you for sharing your thoughts on getting required stuff from www.I went through some of your blogs and am happy to see that more and more people are working in the positive direction. By the way, I would love to have more of such competition :). I am extremely positive about competition in this space!!!

You can add the RSS feeds in your favorite feed reader (or get updates via email with a service like Blogtrottr.com) of these sites: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/need-some-good-news-for-a-change-top-5-good-news-web-sites/ and [broken link removed]. These blogs are updated frequently with positive news from different countries.

I do something similar to what you are doing.I add all the news feeds that I want into Google Reader. I create tags in google reader and use them as categories. I grab the public RSS feed of the tag, and add that to wp-o-matic wordpress plugin. Then just run the Cron, and every time it automatically adds the article to your blog.

Hello Masroor Lodi I personally share that motivation, so let me see if I can help. A few ways to do so would be by using a feed aggregator, that could be embedded on your site ( just Google feed aggregators for site). you can then go to a site that normally has good news, and if they have an rss feed, you can add that your aggregator. It's not a very straight forward process, but it works. Most sites would frown upon you using their news without permission, which could also be a copyright violation, so a feed that links to their site would be the correct way to go about it.One site I would recommend getting news fromhttp://beholders.orgWe post a lot of good news :)
