If you're planning to buy the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 or any other model from the series, you might be looking to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip variant instead of Samsung's in-house Exynos 2200 variant.

But Samsung doesn't officially announce which chip is available in which market, so we are sort of left to figure that out on our own. Luckily, we have a good idea of which markets will be getting which processor. Take a look!

Why Do People Prefer Snapdragon Over Exynos?

It's simple, really. Snapdragon chips have repeatedly proven to be more reliable, consistent, and powerful. They are also significantly better at sustained performance.

There are rare occasions when other SoCs beat Snapdragon on benchmarks, but when it comes to real-world use, Snapdragon almost always wins. Given that, it's no surprise that Snapdragon chips are the industry standard for Android phones no matter which price point you're buying at.

Now, that's not to say that other chips are useless. Credit where due, Samsung's Exynos chips have come a long way. And the latest one, the Exynos 2200, looks actually quite promising. Plus, it is made in collaboration with AMD using the RDNA 2 gaming architecture—the same architecture used in the PlayStation 5.

Still, despite this improvement, if you're planning to buy any one of the Galaxy S22 models, the safer choice is Snapdragon given Qualcomm's authority and experience in the industry.

Snapdragon Chips Are a Safer Investment

While we don't want to discredit the Exynos 2200 chip given how Samsung is actively trying to improve its overall performance, Snapdragon chips continue to be a better and safer investment if you are looking to buy the Galaxy S22.
