I am going to build a computer, which I don't think is going to be too difficult. But when it is finished, what then? How do I get it up and running?
I wish to use Windows XP. Does anyone have any answers for me? Thanks for any replies.

Since, Jeffrey has already told you how, I'll just reiterate to use an OS with the Linux kernel. Much better than Windows. Just post the specs and what you are going to use the computer for and I'm sure someone can recommend a distro that's perfect for your needs.I wish game developers would consider other OSes, so gamers who like to customise have another option besides Windows. It's a vicious cycle.

I think I may be missing something, but just go buy a Windows XP disk and insert it into the disk drive. Since (I presume) there are no other operating systems, it will automatically boot from the CD. I say, don't count your eggs before they hatch. Build the system first, then worry about whats next. However, I strongly suggest you bypass crummy Windows (especially XP) and go directly to Linux. It's lightweight, fast and highly customizable. Unless you're building a gaming system, Linux is perfect.
