It doesn't matter if you don't know the basics of programming. The rising no-code movement has tools and platforms to build any website or app. And to help you along, free online courses and tutorials teach you everything you need to know.

In case you didn't know, no-code tools are a new type of software and online apps that make it easy for non-techies to build tech products without any programming or coding knowledge. This ranges from simple websites and landing pages to complex databases and SaaS. And it's surprisingly easy too. All you need is a little guidance to get started, which these online experts offer for free.

NoCode.Tech curates learning pathways from YouTube videos and their original video content to teach No-Code tools at all levels, along with a searchable library

NoCode.Tech's mission is to help you learn how to use any no-code tool through a combination of original videos and others resources shared by no-code experts on YouTube. If you can't figure out what order to watch videos in, this is the site to give you recommended playlists for online courses and learning pathways.

Scroll down on the main page to find the four basics of NoCode.Tech. If you're a total beginner, start with the Fundamentals of No-Code course, which includes videos from their own NoCode University to learn the basics. Otherwise, use their recommended routes to find things like how to build your version of a popular app like Airbnb, Netflix, or Twitter.

The Pathway Directory is particularly interesting, as it lets you filter tutorials by the apps you want to use. You can even select multiple apps at a time. Pathways are tagged with skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Click any card, and you'll find a curated "recommended online course of videos" so that you aren't confused which order to watch them in.

2. 100 Days of No-Code (Web): 100 Day Challenge to Learn No-Code Basics

100 Days of No-Code teaches no-code basics in 30-minute bite-sized video lessons every day, so you're never overwhelmed

What if we told you that learning the basics of no-code development takes nothing more than 30 minutes of your time every day for 100 days? That's the promise of 100 Days of No-Code (100DNC), as it gives you a daily lesson to teach no-code for absolute beginners.

In the first 15 days, the tutorials give you an overview of basic no-code tools like Zapier, Tally, Notion, Google Sheets, Coda, etc., and build mini-projects such as journals, websites, and automations. Then comes a coding weekend to build a personal project in 48 hours in public. The next 15 days take you through 100DNC's recommended no-code stack to build any app or site. Then, from Day 33 onwards, it's a versatile mix of how to use design, databases, APIs, and other tools to create your no-code journey.

By giving bite-sized lessons daily, 100DNC follows drip-learning principles, ensuring you don't feel overwhelmed. In the past, we've seen how other 100 days challenge projects have helped people pick up valuable skills while still going on with their regular routine.

3. Makerpad & Zapier Courses (Web): Free Beginner Courses for All No-Code Platforms

Makerpad and Zapier are two names constantly in the no-code development world. Zapier acquired Makerpad in 2021, and together, they have launched a series of free online courses to teach beginners the basics of no-code.

Getting Started with No-Code is a series of 14 self-paced courses, and you also get a completion certificate at the end of each course. There are four broad modules or learning paths: how to build a website, how to build a mobile app, building with databases, and building with automations. While it's made by Makerpad and Zapier, you will learn tools like Notion, Super, Carrd, Airtable, Glide, Adalo, and more.

The courses are short video tutorials (with some text and images) to give you a simple task overview. It's elementary and well explained; in most cases, you use templates to learn how to proceed. Once you're comfortable with building an app the way they made it, you can look to make your own with the same no-code tools.

4. Airdev No-Code Bootcamp (Web): Online Course to Learn Bubble and Canvas

Airdev's No-Code Bootcamp is the best free online course to learn Bubble, along with the Canvas framework to make Bubble easier

Bubble is perhaps the most popular no-code tool for building marketplaces, platforms, and other complex apps. In 2013, Airdev built a framework to sit on top of Bubble called Canvas, which makes it much easier to use the building blocks of Bubble in a user-friendly interface. The Airdev No-Code Bootcamp is a free online course to learn these essential tools.

The course is spread over 54 hours and is self-paced, so you can choose how and when to do it. It's essentially divided into four modules. The first module teaches the basics of Bubble for beginners, which is perhaps the best part — if you're getting into no-code development, Bubble is a fundamental learning block.

The second module is a deep-dive into the best practices for Bubble, while the third teaches how to use Canvas on top of Bubble to create apps more easily. The fourth module is one of the most interesting, as it teaches you APIs and how to use them, which will serve you well for any no-code app, not just Bubble or Canvas.

By the end of the course, you will have built practical applications like a poll app, a public product database, a job listings app, a course platform, and a complex marketplace for remote classrooms.

5. Coaching No-Code Apps (Web): Guided No-Code Masterclass & Personal Video Call

Coaching No-Code Apps offers a free beginner's guide to no-code apps, along with a personal strategy consultancy video call, which is rare

Most online courses and tutorials are self-paced, where you watch a video and execute it. You don't get to talk to the tutors unless you're willing to pay. Coaching No-Code Apps differs from the herd by offering a free strategy consultancy video call as part of their free training course.

The course still involves watching videos that explain the basics of no-code apps, especially Bubble, Zapier, and Parabola. But along with that, you'll learn how to pick the right tools and platforms for your app. After you're done with the first hour-long video that explains most of this, you'll get to schedule a video call with the coaches where you can learn their 4-step system to go from scratch to a product in about 12 weeks.

Co-founders Gaby Roman and Kristen Youngs have more intense courses with regular coaching that require payment too. But we would be remiss if we didn't mention the incredible 3-hour-plus Bubble Masterclass that you can watch on their YouTube channel for free.

Remember, You Can Learn to Code for Free

The five resources above are excellent ways to learn how to build a product with no code. They're especially great for someone with no technical know-how to go from scratch to a fully functional website or mobile app.

But if you consider yourself a bit of a techie, there are plenty of ways to learn how to code for free. Yes, it's more hard work than the no-code platforms, but you'll invariably get to execute your vision with minute control over each aspect, have security standards that meet your needs, and never rely on third-party apps.
