I am not sure I understand the question fully, but I will list a few sites I frequent when gaming. Before, I buy a game, i usually read the game reviews on www.gamespot.com. Also, I check out what type of game engine it uses on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_game_engines to see if it has modern graphics, since some new games utilize old out dated graphics. If you play first person shooters, try www.quakelive.com, it is a free pnline game and is pretty cool. If, I am going to host my own game, I check out the site http://findports.com/ which will list games and what ports need to be opened.
