If you need to figure out how to find a central location to meet up with friends who live far from you, there are apps that make it super easy. You can easily find a halfway point between your cities and even pinpoint the exact restaurant or shopping center you'll meet at.

Gone are the days of using Google Maps to map your route, trying to figure out which city is most in the middle, and then finding a place to meet in that city. While this isn't necessarily a difficult process, it's tedious. And using an app that finds a halfway point between two places is much more time efficient.

1. Meet You In the Middle

Meet You In the Middle is a really handy app for finding a good midpoint between three or more cities. If you just need to find a halfway point between two cities, the app can certainly do that. But it shines in mapping out a central location for up to ten cities at once.

As you add cities, each one will be given a unique color for its location marker. Then, on the map, there will be a location marker that says "This is the midpoint!" Now you know what city is central for you and your friends, and you can browse a map to find a good meeting place.

2. Halfway

Halfway is another simple app to use that'll help you find restaurants and other meeting places between two cities.

Once you enter your start and stop locations, the app will automatically navigate you to your midpoint area on the map. Here, you can use the search bar to find restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, and anywhere else you might want to meet.

You can also change the color profile of the app if you want to, a nice customizable feature none of the other apps have.

3. Midpoint Meetup

Midpoint Meetup lets you enter a start location and an end location, but unfortunately won't let you add any more stops. Once you've entered your two locations, it'll put a circle around your trip midpoint on the map.

You can see restaurants, stores, supermarkets, gas stations, or convenience stores around the midpoint. Although you can't choose to see multiple categories at once, you can easily switch between them to see what's in the area. Tapping on a place's location marker will give you the title and address and let you open it up in Google Maps.

4. LinkMe

LinkMe is another app that's great for finding a middle location between three or more cities. You can add up to ten different cities and the app will give you a single central location for everyone to meet up at.

Once you add all the cities you need to, you can set a search radius between 1km and 100km. Then, you can see a scrollable list of all available meeting places at the central meeting point within your search radius.

And although you can't click on the places to direct you to a maps app, it will show you the name and address of each place so they're easy to search for.

Find the Halfway Point Between Two Places

Any one of these apps will help you find the perfect destination to meet in the middle with your family or friends. Whether you're meeting up locally or out of state, having an app like this will make it so much easier to find a good halfway point.

If you are going out of state or taking a road trip to meet up with someone, you should consider a road trip planner. Even if you're the kind of person who likes to wing it on a road trip, a good planner app can help you find things to do off the beaten path, things you wouldn't normally know about.
