i use www.whoreadme.com, a free service.. once you've registered, whenever you send someone an email, add ".whoreadme.com" to the end of their email address.. you will then receive notification once the email has been opened. You can also sign up with www.readnotify.com, a similar service with yet more functionality and reliability, that offers the same thing, but is an affordable paid service..

I prefer a simple one.sign in to google account.create a goog.gl linkInclude it in your mail, and ask the person to click on that link. The number of clicks will be 1 or more than 1. Because if the receiver has clicked the link, he/she has read your mail.you will also knowthe time of mail being readthe browser used and the country of the receiver.

I just wanted to add that neither the "Delivery Confirmation" nor the "Read Notification" header you can set in some email clients are reliable options.Basically a recipient can decide whether he wants to send a Read-receipt or not. In some cases the client won't even support that feature. As for Message Disposition Notifications (delivery confirmation) they might be disabled on the recipients mailserver because of it's vulnerability to attacks.

The old trick is to include a resource that must be fetched from your server, then check your server activity logs to see if that resource was requested. This is the method (I believe)
SpyPig
uses. The problem with this method is that external resources are usually filtered out and not executed. Plus, I'm fairly sure any resources originating from SpyPig are regarded as spam or malicious by most email hosts. This method is known as "image tracking". Another service you may want to try is
DidTheyReadIt
.There is also a "Delivery Confirmation" header, which will be present in the
email header
. Unfortunately, this only tells you if the message was delivered to the inbox, not if it was opened. In conclusion, no method is infallible.

i dont know if thats exactly possible with most popular email clients , but with the email service provided by BigString ( http://www.bigstring.com/ ) , it is .you have the total control of any email you send .-- track it .-- restrict its read count .-- and even delete it automatically after it has been read for a certain number of times .-- and many more .there is one more service which enables you to see when a email sent by you is read .Spy Pig -- ( http://www.spypig.com/ )
