Windows Vista by default created my DVD as an open session disc. I did not want this, but do not know how to change it after the data is already burned to the disc. Any help would be much appreciated.

HiThere are two type of burning in Vista: Live File System (which is the default), and Mastered. Mastered will allow you to finalize and play on CD/DVD players.
