I just changed my profile picture in Facebook. As a result, my profile picture does not display and profile pictures of my friends do not display in my news feed or profile page.

Also noticed 80% of the pictures do not show in my albums. Now it's the thumbnail pictures that are a problem. If you click on any of them the whole picture displays and you can freely arrow through them.

I am using Chrome on Windows 7 but also tried IE9 with same result. I am wondering if the cache that stores these thumbs is corrupt.

And have to compliment MakeUseOf... I still get good support here, even though things have changed. Wondering what will happen next... Now that I know how I am registered (using Yahoo), could be I can build a history with some more questions and suggestions...

So it's now 18 hours later (next day)Yesterday I cleared everything. Don't forget this issue was both in Chrome and IE9 (I always keep IE9 current because some things do not work in Chrome), anyways this duality of the problem made me think it was nothing to do with the Browser cache, cookies..Anyways clearing them did not resolve the issue. Last night at 11 the problem was still persisting. This morning the issue is gone... Was definitely a FB problem on their end...

this is a common problem with the FB. Even I had this problem some time back. try to clear browser data in chrome. It might help you. bt if it doesn't help you at all, there is another method. bt I don't know what fixes this. in you FB, go to account settings and turn off secure web browsing ( HTTPS ) from there. I don't know what happens after this, but it corrects the problem. turning off HTTPS is not a good idea, but, after a day or so, turn it on. I hope this will help you.( or else, try another web browser. firefox, IE9 or any other )

To be sure, try clearing all your browser's cookies cache and history. It usually happen when the internet connection is not so good and is facing some heavy traffic.
