Is it possible to extract data from Evernote in the event that I lose access to the program or if I want to analyse the data differently?

How To Export Your Data Out Of Evernotehttp://www.documentsnap.com/how-to-export-your-data-out-of-evernote/http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/25369/export-your-evernote-notes-in-html-or-mht-format/Evernote Exporterhttp://evernoteexporter.codeplex.com/Evernote Exporter is a tiny desktop app that performs a scheduled backup/export of all your Evernote notes. Your notes are exported to a single .enex file, Evernote's official XML archive format.there is export Evernote to RTF but its for MAC, if you have access to MAC it can help you.http://veritrope.com/tech/evernote-rtf-export/http://veritrope.com/code/export-selected-evernote-items-as-rtfd-files/http://www.documentsnap.com/export-evernote-rtf/

Hello, the best option would be the one mentioned in the following post:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/schedule-export-of-evernote-notes-with-evernote-exporter/There are more options. One would be to use the export function in evernote and the other would be to back it up with your backup routine. If you want to export your notes, this is what you could do:-- open evernote-- highlight and right click on
all notebooks
-- select
export notes
-- select a destination folder in your system-- wait for export to be finishThe files will be backup with the
enex
extension, which is an exported XML file. XML files can be opened with notepad. If you want to backup evernote with your backup routine, just double check that the evernote folder where your database is located is selected in your backup routine. The home folder is backup by default but it doesn't hurt to double check. This is the folder that has to be included:C:UsersxxxxxAppDataLocalEvernoteEvernoteDatabasesreplace the xxxxx with your username.

Thanks Fidelis. The scheduled export looks good, but I cannot seem to read .enex files with Notepad. I can read the manual export from Evernote, but it is not automatic so if I lost access to Evernote it would be too late to export the data.

Hello, if notepad could not open the file, any browser could open it by default. Double click on the xml file and then select choose a program and point it to your browser. Even better possibilities are by downloading and using the following free programs. They are replacements for notepad. Once you download one of them, you can either set them as default to read XML, or just open the open and then open the XML file when program is open:Notepad++:http://notepad-plus-plus.org/XML Notepad:http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7973Let me know how it goes.

I still only get code when I open the file in these applications, the same as I get when I use Notepad. If I export to html, it is fine, but I cannot schedule an export to html.
