I need some extensions or tweaks for Chrome:

1. For changing/removing "Other bookmarks" folder

2. For adding option to "auto hide" download bar (after 10 seconds would be great)

3. Option to directly open file from Internet (so, to choose whether I want to Open or Save)

4. Add separators to bookmarks

Also, how can I choose where to install Chrome? I would like to install it in C/Program files.

That's very odd -- according to Google, as long as you uininstall Chrome first, the alternate installer should do this.If that didn't work, I'm not sure what else you can do.You could try something like Google Chrome Portable, which lets you install it anywhere (that's the definition of a portable app): http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portableOf course, this isn't a direct-from-Google solution. Users probably won't have their own profile directories if you do this, too.

To install Chrome in your Program Files directory, use the alternate installer: http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=118663

Mike, thank you for your answer.Regarding #1: I have found out that that folder can be renamed if you import bookmarks from Firefox :)#2: This is very interesting! Nice!#3: I need to open ZIP files without download - when downloading subtitles, I like to directly open ZIP, and than drag&drop subtitle from it to folder with my movie. #4: Ok ;)

Generally speaking even the (#3) "open" command is a download except the file is placed in the temporary directory and then automatically opened by the default application.Anyway, you should be able to use a third party download manager to get the functionality. JDownloader ( Chrome extension for JDownloader )I haven't used them in ages but I believe all of them should offer the option to "Open" from web rather than downloading and manually opening the files.

I know that Open is similar to Save option, but I prefer "Open", since than I don't have to delete downloaded file later :-)

1. I'm not aware of any method to hide/disable the "Other bookmarks" folder.2. You can have downloads running completely in the background by enabling the "New Downloads UI" within chrome://flags/3. At this time Chrome can only download/save files.I believe this limitation is duo to the security within Chrome - it uses sandboxes which don't give access to other parts of the operating system. If you for example tried to open an installer or executable it wouldn't be able to run because there is no access to necessary system resources.4. I only know of some work-arounds by making "bogus" bookmarkshttp://separatethis.com/http://www.tomodea.com/googlechromebookmarksbarseparator/
