I have the cell of 1 workbook = the cell of another workbook. I want to insert a blank row in the second workbook. The cell in the 1st one now also shows blank and the original cell has moved down one row.

Sounds like you inserted the blank line or row ABOVE The cell on the second work book. The cell reference didn't change so the cell is showing the bkank that was inserted

can u type in the formula you used? cause I tried what you said and did what you did (inserting blank row) and it still showed the value.just type = in the cell of worksheet A and than go the worksheet B, click on the cell whose value you want in worksheet A and than simply press enter.
