Elon Musk has made a song about NFTs, because of course he has. He's also selling this song as an NFT, because of course he is.

What Are NFTs?

NFT stands for non-fungible token. Very simply, it's a digital file that has authenticated ownership. This is verified on the blockchain, which provides a public record.

NFTs have boomed recently with artists using it to sell paintings and music. Some are worth millions of dollars. Jack Dorsey is even selling his first tweet as an NFT.

Some believe NFTs exist in a bubble. Others think it's here to stay. Whatever the case, many people and companies are jumping on board, and Elon Musk is the latest to join the fray. He's produced a song about NFTs which he's selling as an NFT.

What Does Elon Musk's NFT Song Sound Like?

Elon Musk is living up to his recent job title change of "Technoking". His new electronic song is an upbeat techno track that loosely raves about NFTs. It's not exactly going to top the charts, but it is amusing to listen to.

"NFT, for your vanity, computers never sleep, it's verified, it's guaranteed," sings a female voice.

The music is accompanied by a video of a spinning gold trophy, adorned with a planet, Doges (the meme dog), and "HODL" (a slang term that encourages cryptocurrency owners not to sell).

As announced on Twitter, Musk is selling this song as an NFT. You can bid for the tweet on Valuables, a platform created by Cent (a social media network built on the Ethereum blockchain).

At the time of writing, the highest bid comes from Sina Estavi, CEO of Bridge Oracle, for $1.12 million.

Of course, you don't need to buy the NFT to hear the song. You can simply go to the tweet, download the video from Twitter, and listen to it for free to your heart's content.

In fact, Valuables say that the tweet will continue to live on Twitter, and whoever buys this NFT is getting a "1-of-1 autographed version" that will be minted on the blockchain.

Elon Musk: The Music Sensation

This isn't Musk's first step into music. His rap debut came in 2019 with RIP Harambe, which he followed with the techno Don't Doubt Your Vibe in 2020.

On the surface, Musk producing this track is amusing. Nevertheless, considering the eye-watering amount of money it's going for, he'll have the last laugh.
