How can I downsize the jpg image in Photoshop with the following dimensions:

width 2848 pixels

length 1899 pixels

resolution 480 pixels

RGB 8 bits/channel

file size 1.37 mb

to

w 100 pixels

l 120 pixels

resolution 72 approximately

greyscale 8 bit/channel

file size in between 15 to 20 kb

hi Ravi, are you submitting a form online, exam/job application ke liye ?you should crop it also.you can resize it from image > image size option.but you can use other software also for resizing.upload the image here by clicking the image option in he comment box.so jeff or i will resize it.

actually i did it earlier also but the problem with photoshop is that it never reduces the file size very minutely, (i may be wrong or may not hv good knowledge of photoshop). I resized the image to 21kb and to further reduce it by 1 kb was really tiring and ultimately i have to compromise with the picture quality so that i may be able to upload the photo online. Anyhow, i am really happy to see that people are there to help. my gud wishes

Hi Ravi,In Photoshop, open the image and go to Image -> Image Size (shortcut 'ALT + CTRL + I'). Then enter the new dimensions of your image and press " Ok ". If you can't figure it out, upload the image to
Image Shack , Tiny Pic , Flickr  or PhotoBucket and I will perform the resizing. To compress the image, when you press "Save As", in the quality dialog box lower the quality down. You may alternatively use a free service such as Image Optimizer to compress it.- Jeff
