YES.Do not go by "recommended" amounts. If you have less than 4 gigs of Ram Windows 8 will be a sluggish nightmare! 8 min. is what you really want

@ Alan Wade"Do you actually believe what you have written? Do you know what memory is?"Yes sir, I do believe in each word i have written up there, Yes I know what memory is,specially when concerning computers , Computer memory can refer to many types of memory within a computer, but, typically, it refers to random access memory (RAM). It is physically found on computer chips that are inserted onto the computer’s motherboard. RAM is electronic, rather than mechanical; that is, it does not have moving parts and therefore data access to it is very fast. Modern computers often have somewhere between 256 MB (megabytes) and 2 GB (gigabytes) of RAM, although there are, of course, computers with more or less RAM. RAM is also volatile, meaning that it gets lost when the computer is switched off. I do also believe in :- The minimum hardware requirements for Windows XP Home Edition are: Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended) (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive Keyboard and a Microsoft Mouse or some other compatible pointing device Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (800 x 600)or higher resolution Sound card Speakers or headphones___________________________________________________If you want to run Windows 8 on your PC, here's what it takes: Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((YOU HAVE TO NOTE IT)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driverThank You :) best regards :)

No. Windows 8 require a minimal of 1 gb ram.
2012-12-14 00:15:58
You will not have problems with ram, but check wheather the rest of your computer supports windows 8. If it is older, maybe there is no drivers for your mother board. Also, I would go for se7en, not win 8.
