Does camera option in Google Translate app identify both typed and handwritten text? It works well with typed text but often shows error with handwritten text. Does it's feature in "CAMERA" ( not handwritten touch input feature ) include both typed and handwritten text or only typed text?

The only reliable handwriting recognition systems at present work within very specific constraints, such as recognising addresses (where they can compare the results to a known database) or where the _action_ of writing was recorded (such as on some older PDAs or on touch panels etc). There are simply too many variations in handwriting style and possible interpretation (even for humans) for a computer to do a good job of it. In other words, it's a novelty feature, not a useful one.

This feature is a part of the app and it was in alpha stage for 18 months. You'll have to train the app so as to make it recognize your handwritten texts.
