If you have a PlayStation 5, you should have the PlayStation app installed on your smartphone. It provides access to several handy features, allowing you to manage your console even when you're not physically in front of it.

One feature you might have overlooked is how to delete PS5 games remotely using the PlayStation app. Let's see how to do this.

How to Delete PS5 Games From the Mobile App

If you don't have it already, install the PlayStation app for Android or iPhone. You'll need to log in with your PlayStation account and link to your console to continue.

Keep in mind that your PS5 must be in rest mode, and online, to manage its storage remotely. If you've fully shut down your PS5, this function won't work because the app needs to wake up your console to use it.

Once this is done, make sure you're on the Play tab at the bottom of the screen, represented by a controller. Then tap the Gear icon at the top-right. Here, you should see a Storage entry. If it doesn't appear, make sure your app is up-to-date.

After you tap Storage, you'll see a list of games installed on your system. Check the games that you want to delete; you can select as many as you want. When you're satisfied, hit the Delete X Games button at the bottom, then confirm the operation.

After confirming, your PS5 will turn on, erase the games you selected, and then go back into rest mode. Like deleting a game on the system itself, this won't delete your saved data for the game; it only removes the game's install files.

Remotely Manage PS5 Games for Maximum Convenience

While the PS5's internal SSD is speedy, it doesn't have a lot of breathing room. Having the ability to delete unneeded games from anywhere is handy, as it allows you to free up the space needed for another remote download. After deleting an old game through the app, you can initiate a remote install of a new game and have it ready by the time you get home.

This isn't the only handy feature of the PlayStation app; make sure you take full advantage and keep an eye out for additional features down the road.
