My daughter is studying Graphics at college. Part of this is that she has to make her own website. To do this she had to download Flash (We just couldn't afford this so she went on and downloads a 30 trial).

She has completed her work twice now and has tried to save to either USB and CD-R, but both times it wouldn't save, (she is using a Acer laptop). She has to give this work in by tomorrow, shes very distressed because it is slowly removing her work. We sort advice from GOOGLE and it just says to SAVE all she has to do is open another window and copy and paste her work but even this isn't working. Any advice please, thank you

Thank you guys, the trial was function limited. But she managed to get it done on the MAC in college, thank you all for the good advice anyway.

Some trail versions are function limited. So the save function maybe disabled. Try looking up Adobe for a student/teacher edition.

Are you trying to save the project (as an FLA) or are you trying to export it for the web (as SWF)? I could see the latter one being a limitation of the trial but I didn't test it.Also, have you tried saving it to the Desktop or the Documents folder? It's obvious you can't "save" to a CD-R as files have to be burned using an application designed for that purpose. As for the USB drive there is always the chance of it being write protected or un-writeable duo to multiple reasons

it might be a trial version which does not allow to save files

Seconded. Try reading the trial limitations.

Why didn't she get the Academic version from the college bookstore? They generally have full-featured academic versions of software for hundreds of dollars less (up to 80% in some cases) than what you would find anywhere else. And it isn't crippled like most trial versions of Adobe's software (generally cannot save your work or copy and paste it from their products to something else).

Yeah this would be the best bet for students. I have been getting the student licence for Dreamweaver for years now.

if the proposed methods do not work and if you are able to play the work the perhpas to record it with camstudio to avi.http://camstudio.org/Are trials limited in functionality? http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/trial-limitations.htmlMost Adobe trial software is time limited, but will function as a full version under normal use. However, some trials will provide watermarked output, and some do not include additional items that are included with the commercial version (third party software, additional fonts and templates, etc.). Sites created using the ColdFusion trial will become inaccessible to visitors when the trial expires, unless a licensed copy of ColdFusion is purchased and installed.

ha14's proposed method with screen capture software might be the best for you for now. I've been using this method for similar problems every now and then, and it ensures you to have the best match with the original flash file.

Can she save it on her own computer? If so, maybe a way around can be to save it there and then move/copy it to usb-memory or cd. Try also "save as" and give the file a different name. To be safe use only a-z, 0-9 and -_ and no space in the name
