What is the subject of the presentation ?It also depends on what subject you are preparing the presentation.
What is should include, and how it should look.
Introduction, the details, and conclusion.
If it is for
business or an assignment given to you from your school or college
.you should keep it
simple
.Do not choose a painful color scheme to eyes :)Use charts and graphs if necessary.A relevant
picture
to every slide is recommended. But it does not mean that a picture is must, if you cant find one.If you are creating a PPT, it does not mean that you have to use each and every feature that powerpoint provide.Use simple animated effects, if you think you need it, Do not use too much animated effects, you have to
present the subject, not your powerpoint skills
.do not make it too much flashy.Avoid using disturbing
sounds
when changing the slides. Points in the slides should be the
short sentences
that clearly describe the point. (not like me, who is wring random para in my comment :)else people will think you are reading a textbook. If you are copying from an existing presentation or articles on websites.edit the sentences, do not just copy and paste and split into points. If you want to experiment and do not want to create a typical ppt :Using texts Descriptions are not always must.you can use
only images
, If you are there to explain about all the images in the slide. If it is suites the matter of your presentation, and details of the subject, you can try a
black bakground and white text
and nothing else.If you have a
video
, which explains the topic very well, use it.Mute the video, and explain it by your speech. The text of slide show, should not be the exactly the same what you are going to speak, Else it will look like you are reading the slides, and not presenting. What I wrote is based on my personal experience, So the opinions may differ.I am not including any "how to create powerpoint presentaion" links.I am sure, you will find it from many sites. And if the presentation is
not for school/college/business
, and you are explaining about something like a fun event or festival you want to organize, you can decorate it with animation effects , and make it look attractive more than just simple. If you are confident about what you are presenting, and it is something you want to introduce people to :You can get inspiration from Steve jobs.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-ntLGOyHw4
