If you make a full system backup on a good working machine problem. I don't know which version of Windows you or where you brought it, but with my HP laptop, I purchased a HP restore DVD.

If you have serial number, I would do this:- download original Win ISO from here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/18769-Download-Windows-7-ISO-%28Official-32-bit-and-64-bit-Direct-Download-Links%29- place ISO on USB (by Rufus, http://rufus.akeo.ie/ ) or DVD- install it :-)

CloneZilla would be the best solution in a case where you had to install Windows manually. There is no such utility that can create a disk which would assist in actually installing Windows again, from a current Windows installation.

If you have a computer that came with the OS preinstalled, there may be a utility that the manufacturer put on the machine that will allow you to make recovery media from your system. There may also be a recovery partition on your hard drive that will do the trick as well. If not, you cannot create installation media from your system, but you can use the Backup and Restore utility (Start -> Maintenance -> Backup and Restore) to create an image of your current system on another NTFS formatted drive and a recovery CD that can restore your machine to the state it is currently in. It isn't an ideal situation, but it is better than nothing. If you don't like the MS provided tools to do the job, you can also go to clonezilla.sourceforge.net and download a LiveCD that can perform imaging and recovery of your hard drive as well.
