I have a Dell Dimension 4700 that can support Intel Pentium 4 processor 520, 530, 540, 550, 560, or 570, and I'm looking to upgrade from a Intel Pentium 4 520. Will a Intel BX80571E5700 Pentium Dual Core E5700 Processor work with my computer?

(now don't ask whether DDR2 or DDR3),Ur motherboard supports DDR2 ONLY!

Okay, calm down. It's not a rally. James is right, it's not compatible.

No. Your machine supports: Intel Pentium 4 processor 520, 530, 540, 550, 560, or 570Dual Core ... is not on that list. E5700 and P4 570 are two differtn CPUs I'm afraid. Not worth upgrading that. Just buy a new machine.
