How can I copy a Windows XP multifunction program from HP, to a Windows 7 computer? Can I use a flash drive and Linux? The Windows XP machine does not have internet access.

Hello, easiest way would be to go to the HP site and download the program. The best thing about doing it this way, is that you would get the most recent file of the application. You could also copy the .exe and other files from xp on a flashdrive and install it on windows 7. The downside of this could be that the program might not work properly on windows 7. You might have to run the program on compatibility mode. Now if you want to copy the program as is you would probably have to get a program such as the one on the following link. This is a portable software that moves programs between computers..especially between xp and windows 7. Best thing is that it is free but the downside is that it is still on beta testing:http://www.pickmeapp.com/pickmeappThe software on the following link it is paid, but it gives you a free trial to move one file, which is all you need based on your questionhttp://download.cnet.com/PCmover-Professional/3000-2094_4-10603263.htmlhttp://www.pcnet-online.com/downloads/moveme.htmYou can also try Paragon Drive copy. This is a software built for the purpose of migrating to a new computer but it is paid:http://www.paragon-software.com/home/dc-professional/
