I switched from AT&T to Verizon and from iPhone 3G to DroidX2.

I want to use the iPhone as an iPod, but my PC no longer recognizes the iPhone. I used a second party app to move files when I was using the iPhone, but since the PC doesn't see the phone...

Any help would be appreciated.

First, back up all your music from your 3G to your laptop via iTunes and then perform a factory reset on the phone. Once that's done, you'll have a 'new' iPod Touch. Then, you can sync your data into the 3G.

I think you should uninstall all the application of your iTunes in PC, and reinstall the drivers .

Try installing iTunes, it would probably help to recognize your phone. Maybe it's the driver's fault. Try going into the device manager and uninstall your apple device driver and plug in your phone one more time.If this doesn't help, try using a 3rd party tool, like mentioned in the comments above.

Use CopyTrans manager to perform file transfer operations and it must detect your phone -http://www.copytrans.net/copytransmanager.phpIf your phone is still not detected, then create an online backup by connecting your phone through Wi-Fi and factory reset your phone.

You would need to install iTunes and then transfer the music you've purchased into your iPhone through it.
