I know that you can connect to a TV with a mini display port to VGA adapter and can connect to a monitor with a mini display port to DVI adapter; but can you split the signal or something like that?

I believe that Apple sells a cable that does that. When I purchased my Mac mini, they tried to sell me one. But I think it's expensive. I check with Radio Sack first as non apple brands are usually cheaper.

(1) get an external USB video adapter, e.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815290006&cm_re=usb_video_card-_-15-290-006-_-Product(2) they make DVI splitter cables. a newegg search for "dvi splitter" will show several options: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=dvi+splitter&x=0&y=0the image quality may not be flawless with the above solutions - make sure you buy them from someplace with a liberal return policy in case they don't live up to your standards. (3) the "dvi splitter" search from above will also show several active DVI splitters, which split and amplify the signal. they're not cheap, but the image quality doesn't suffer.
