I'd like to connect my laptop to my TV. My laptop has SATA, HDMI and USB ports. My TV only has S-video and VGA (red, yellow, white) ports. Can anyone advise on the best way I can connect them?

The signals are completely different, so you'll need an adapter such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Composite-S-Video-Converter-3RCA/dp/B0047PDBP0Also, VGA is not red/yellow/white. Those are known as RCA/Composite - the yellow is video, the red/white are left and right audio channels. VGA is a digital format and it sounds as though your TV only handles composite (call it analog if you like).
