[Editor's note: this question was submitted in three parts, which I joined into one.]
I am using Airtel HD DTH (digital optical out port). I don't have a HD TV, but I want to connect DTH HDMI 'out' to my monitor's DVI-D 'in' port.
Can I connect the digital optical to my Analog 5.1 Home theater?
My receiver only has separate 5.1 RCA inputs (6 RCA inputs, one for each speaker), but my DTH HD player and DVD have optical audio outs (but not 5.1 RCA outs), so I would like to use that if possible. Is there any adapter or connector that will convert an optical audio signal into 6 separate RCA plugs for a 5.1 input?
Please help me. Thanks.

In general you can watch a HDMI source on a DVI-D display (both are digital signals) the limitation being if your HDMI source requires HDCP protection and your DVI-D monitor does not support it. As for the audio you already stated the issue:You have a digital source going to an analog receiver hence you will require an converter/encoder. What you will find for sure is a simple DAC converter which means input is "digital optical" and output is "left/right analog RCA" - obviously not the optimum. http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=5279Personally, I would make sure whether your receiver has a digital coaxial input or not. In that case you could get a digital optical to digital coaxial converter.http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=5980If you want full analog surround sound it is going to cost you quite a bit as you can see from the encoder linked bellow. There should be encoders without HDMI but for one I didn't find any and they'll still be $100+http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8202

They are so hard to find that the third one is correct either - sorry. At this moment I actually can't find a "reasonable priced" Toslink to 5.1 RCA encoder.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you need a surround capable amplifier to connect to those speakers, which will most certainly have an optical input. As for connecting HDMI to DVI-D, a cable such as this would suffice: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-HDMI-Cable-Gold-Metre/dp/B000GDI6FC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1316592575&sr=8-1
