My laptop has some problems - mouse and keyboard not responding, Windows pops up with an error while creating a new folder, sometimes no Wi-Fi, even quick BSOD. The only "fix" is to save the default settings on the BIOS and restart. I'm NOT talking about the BIOS password - just the default settings.

The question is: since it keeps repeating every week or so, is it a motherboard or Windows issue? Windows disk check and /sfc scan both were fine. Laptop is virus or malware clean and hard drive is fine also.

To read error code, click F8 key repeatedly after boot screen closes and select no auto restart on error from menu. Frozen mouse and keyboard result of system crash. Is time and date correct on startup? If not CMOS battery has failed. The error code on BSOD will indicate if is a hardware or OS problem

The time is correct. I can't see the BSOD - it flashed too quickly - BlueScreenViewer didn't even log it.

There's a setting controlling computer restart behavior during a BSOD. Basically, if you turn off automatic restart, the computer will hang on a BSOD, so you'll be able to write down the error code. For the precise steps needed to change restart behavior, check this link out .After that you'll be able to get the error code. Good luck!

The BSOD is too quick to check. I was told it's an OS issue.
