I've just finished reinstalling Windows 7 on a freshly formatted hard drive and have just finished installing Ubuntu on the same hard drive via live USB. Both installations went smoothly, but now when I restart, it automatically boots into Windows, without showing me the boot menu with other OS choices. Is there a step I missed?

If your order of installation above is correct, you have apparently installed your Linux bootloader of choice into your Linux partition.  Download EasyBCD to add an entry to the Windows boot configuration for your Ubuntu installation.
