I have a scanned copy of a really old black & white portrait that I want colored. I don't want to hand it to the professionals but rather do the job myself as there's no time constraint.
To start with, I have an aging computer with Adobe Photoshop 7. What service/software is/are required to accomplish the job:
a. VERY SIMPLY,
b. with "Lo-and-Behold"-ing results, and
c. for FREE?
Please give me your tried-and-tested suggestions only.

I colorized an old wedding picture for my in-laws 50th. It was very intense as they were married in an old hall where lath and plaster showed through the bridal veil and the bride had a dozen roses in her hand.I did it in Photoshop7.
