Hello, What operating system are you running? best option if available to you is to get an external harddrive or you could also add another drive to your system. Of course to add another drive to your system, it has to be a desktop . Other commenters have already mentioned using crapcleaner to keep your system clean and get rid of files you do not need. You can also try using disk cleanup which is a windows utility installed by default. The following instructions are for windows XP, but they are similar in vista/windows 7:-- click on start-- computer/my computer-- click on your C: drive-- right click on it and select properties-- on general tab, cick on Disk Cleanup -- click on ok-- make sure to check the following files:
downloaded program filestemporary internet filesrecycle bintemporary filestemporary offline filesoffline filescompress old files
-- click on
More options
tab-- Under System Restore heading, click on
clean up
-- click on yes-- click on okYou can view how your drive is used by using windirsat. It is a freeware program that will show you visualy the files occupying your drive:http://windirstat.info/Download link for windirsat:http://windirstat.info/download.htmlAlso make sure to uninstall any programs you do not need. To uninstall programs you could use Revo Uninstaller free edition:http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html You could also try reducing the size of recycle bin:-- right click on recycle bin-- click on properties-- click on use one setting for all drives-- move the slider bar to around 5 percent-- click on apply and then okAfter you try all the steps above, make sure to defragment your drive. For a drive to be able to be defragmented you have to have at least 15% of free space. If need be, you could force a defragmention of your drive.

You don't mention what operating system you are using, but assuming you are using Windows, are are several things you can do:1. Empty the recycle bin! (right click on it and choose "Empty Recycle Bin")2. Run the 'Disk Cleanup' utility (You'll find it in the Start=>Programs menu under Accessories->System Tools). Make sure only to tick items for removal that you are confident you don't need.3. From the start menu choose Run... , type %temp% and press . Delete entire contents of the folder (some files may be in use and won't be deletable, that's fine, leave them alone).4. Download CCleaner and use it to remove temporary files and other "cruft" from your computer (leave the registry options alone, at least at this stage).5. Use a utility such as Treesize to find out what is taking up the most space on your hard disc and see if you can move those files to an external disc or delete them.Good luck!
