Notion is an incredibly popular productivity software, with a truly staggering number of people using it in their workplaces. If you’re one of those people, then you have no doubt wondered at one point or another how you can get more out of it.

Luckily, there are a wide variety of extensions for Google Chrome that can completely change the way that you use Notion for the better. Here are five of the very best.

1. Notion Web Clipper

First up on this list comes Notion Web Clipper, a useful extension used by over one million users. If you’re looking for a good place to start when it comes to expanding on Notion and its functionality, then this is a great option to do so.

Notion Web Clipper works off of a fairly simple premise: it allows you to save any website that you’re currently on to Notion with just a couple of clicks. All you have to do to use it is to navigate to the extension bar and click on the Notion Web Clipper button that you’ll find there. The extension does most of the work from there.

Notion Web Clipper will automatically take the name of the webpage and add it to a new database called New links database. You can adjust all of this yourself once you’re in the extension, however. This makes saving pages almost as easy as learning how to view your shared pages in Notion.

If you’d prefer a different name, say as a note to help you remember why you’re saving the page, then you can easily replace the automatically generated name. You can also select any database or page to be the destination of the saved link, not just the one generated by the extension.

All in all, this is a useful piece of functionality that is missing from Notion by default. If you’re finding that you often have to copy and paste links into your various Notion pages, then this extension is a must-have.

2. Save to Notion

Next up, we have Save to Notion. If you’re looking for something like Notion Web Clipper but were a little disappointed by the range of options that that extension provided, then Save to Notion might just be what you’re looking for.

As you might imagine from the name, Save to Notion is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to quickly and easily save webpages to your Notion databases and pages.

There’s a lot that you can manage with Save to Notion that you can’t with other extensions. For example, when saving webpages, you have the option to choose to bookmark the page or to extract its content.

By bookmarking a page, you will be accessing the data exactly as is, but you won’t be able to access it later without an internet connection. In effect, you’re just accessing a link. Extracting the content will let you read it later in Notion, no matter where or how you choose to do so.

You can also adjust how you add webpages to Notion more freely as well. You can create a page description, adjust the title, choose the data to take from the webpage using CSS selectors, and more.

The downside here is that Save to Notion takes a bit more setup to get running than other extensions. You’ll need to create a form for each type of clip that you want to make, but once you do so, they’ll be saved and can be used instantly.

3. Notion Boost

If you’re looking for something that expands on Notion itself, then Notion Boost is a great extension to get started with. Notion Boost only runs on Notion itself. This makes it pretty lightweight, since most of the time you won’t even have to worry about it being installed in your browser at all.

When you do have Notion open, however, this extension does a lot to expand on the ways that Notion works. All you have to do to get started is open up the extension and look through the options available.

There are a lot of options to choose from here, which could get pretty overwhelming if not for the explanations that appear beneath each option. There’s also a button at the bottom of the pop-up which gives more detailed explanations of what each feature does if you’re still confused.

Notion Boost has too many features to simply list, but some noticeable standouts include the addition of an outline for pages that have headings, a scroll to top button, the ability to hide the Help button, and many more.

Any of these options can be switched on and off as you so choose, though it is worth noting that some options are only available to those of you who choose to pay for the Pro package.

4. NotionX

Next, we have NotionX. NotionX is a browser extension that aims to enhance the Notion experience. There are a lot of different options available here with NotionX, such as dynamic tables of contents and sidebar features.

You can also enable compact modes, dark modes, and more. This heavily expands on the list of useful things you can do in Notion. What’s really cool about NotionX is that you can also add a number of shortcuts to enhance your Notion experience.

These shortcuts aren’t editable, which is a bit of a shame, but they do introduce an entirely new way of interacting with Notion that can be quite helpful if you’re a power user or just someone trying to get the most out of Notion.

5. Notion-Enhancer

Finally, we have Notion-Enhancer. As you can no doubt guess from the name, Notion-Enhancer is an extension which aims to enhance your Notion experience. What makes the extension different from the previous two entries onto this list is that Notion-Enhancer doesn’t come with a distinct list of additions for Notion.

Instead, the extension runs from a public GitHub repo. This means that it can, hypothetically, be expanded at any point to include new additions and new extensions within Notion-Enhancer itself.

As a result, the possibilities with Notion-Enhancer are endless. For now, there are a wide variety of different options such as font selectors, outliners, scroll to top buttons, and more. There are also options for themes, integrations, and more.

Get More Out of Notion

As you can see, there are a wide variety of different Google Chrome extensions out there that allow you to completely change the way that you use Notion. If you use Notion on a day-to-day basis, then these extensions could completely alter the way that you interact with your work. Plus, they’re super easy to add or remove as well.
