Apart from being a great smart display, the Google Nest Hub can also act as a digital clock in your room. Google includes 11 different clock faces on the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max for this.

There are two ways to change the clock face on the Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. You can either use the Google Home app on your smartphone or simply ask Google on your Nest Hub to change the clock face.

There's no way to change the Nest Hub's clock face directly on the smart display without first using your voice. These steps will also be applicable for the second-generation Nest Hub.

What to Know About Clock Faces on Google Nest Hub

  • It is not possible to use custom clock faces on the Nest Hub. You can select from one of the 11 clock faces or use a photo you like from your Google Photos library and turn it into a digital photo frame.
  • None of the clock faces on the Nest Hub simultaneously show the time and date. You will find clock faces with time and weather or date and weather, but not one showing the time and date along with the weather.

How to Change the Clock Face on Your Google Nest Hub Using the Google Home App

  1. Open the Google Home app on your Android device or iPhone.
  2. Tap on your Nest Hub or Hub Max from the room it is assigned to.
  3. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner and navigate to Photo Frame > Fullscreen Clock.
  4. You will be presented with 11 different clock faces along with their preview. Tap the clock face that you like, and it will be applied to your Nest Hub.

The selected clock face will only be displayed on your Nest Hub's display when it is not in use.

How to Change the Clock Face on Google Nest Hub Using Your Voice

Changing the clock face on your Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max using your voice is a simpler process. Just say, "Hey Google, set photo frame" or "Hey Google, change the clock face."

Your Nest Hub will then show you three categories for Photo Frame—what you will see when the screen is not in use. The choices will be Google Photos, Art Gallery, and Full screen clock. Select Full screen clock, after which a preview of all the available clock faces will be displayed. Simply select the one you like, and it will be applied.

Changing Clock Faces on Nest Hub

The process of changing clock faces on the Google Nest and Nest Hub Max is pretty straightforward.

However, Google needs to add more clock faces to its smart displays, especially ones that can show time/date and weather at the same time. There are plenty of other limitations on the Nest Hub that actually limit its usefulness as a smart display.
