CD Writing Wizard will not allow me to copy to CD. It gives me an error message saying the CD is full. It is a new disc and it works on my brother's computer.

If the CD is a CD-R then your computer can only write on it once, sometimes software writes on the disk hidden data files without informing the user.I recommend using CD-RW and using the CD writing options that windows provides on it's OS

Hello, what kind of cd is it? Is it CD-R, CD+R, CD-RW, CD+RW? What operating system are you using? For the CD Writing Wizard to work you have to have at least 2 GB of free space. Also, have you tried copying the files using third party software like Nero, Roxio, etc? Try copying with any of the third party software and if successful, you CD Writing Wizard is corrupted somehow. If so, try uninstalling and installing back again. Also, you try checking the compatibility list for your operating system, it might be that your DVD/CD burner is not compatible with your operating system. Here are links for compatibility lists:For windows 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Browse.aspx?type=Hardware&category=Storage%20Devices&subcategory=CD%2fRW%20%2f%20DVD%2fRWI am afraid I cannot provide you with compatibility list for XP...it is no longer up, maybe because only XP with Service Pack 3 is supported nowadays. Vista should have the same HCL as windows 7...if it runs in Vista, it should run on WINDOWS 7.Also, you might want to check your Device Manager to check if it shows any problems with your drive. To access Device Manager follow the next steps:for XP:-- windows key + Pause/Break key-- Click on Hardware Tab-- Click on Device Manager-- Extend DVD/CD drive-- Check if there is a question mark or a warning for your drive-- highlight your drive-- right click and click on properties-- If properties show the drive working ok-- try to update your drive by right clicking drive and select update driverfor Vista/Windows 7-- start-- type device manager on search bar-- click on hardware tab-- Extend/click on plus sign on DVD/Cd drive-- follow the previous steps

Which soft are you using to write the cd? If its the soft that causing the problem, uninstal and reinstal again.SO if it works on your brother computer then you have either a software problem or a hardware problem.Do you have enough free space on your PC?You can try microsoft fix, just download on your PC and start it.http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/frif still do not fix it then go to run and type devmgmt.msc this will open the device manager, then go to your burner and ater right clicking choose uninstal, then reboot. Windows will see a new hardware and will instal the driver for it. If not then open again device manager then go to DVD/CD-Rom drives and choose Scan for hardware changes.
