CBS All Access is due to become Paramount+ soon, but if you have a second or third-generation Apple TV then you won't be able to watch. That's because the CBS All Access app for those devices isn't being updated and is instead closing down.

Which Apple TVs Are No Longer Supported?

As reported by MacRumors, those who access the CBS All Access app on a second or third-generation Apple TVs will now see a message that explains on March 4, 2021, CBS All Access will no longer be available on the device. That's because that's the date that CBS All Access is becoming Paramount+.

The message goes on to say that other Apple products, like the Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, iPhone, or iPad will support Paramount+. Alternatively, you can stream Paramount+ from your iOS device directly to any Apple TV (third generation or later) or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.

CBS All Access is rebranding to Paramount+ in part because the company believes the brand name is more recognizable. The relaunch will also see new original content coming to the platform.

YouTube is soon to stop supporting these older Apple TV devices, while HBO already ditched it last year, so this announcement isn't that surprising.

If this applies to you, now might be the time to upgrade to a newer Apple TV model.
