Chrome for Android Gets a Built-In Screenshot Tool

As first spotted by 9to5Google, Chrome's Android version now includes a screen capture tool and a screenshot editing tool. With these tools, you'll be able to conveniently take screenshots of the sites you visit in this browser, and then make amendments to the captures you want.

This feature should be enabled by default in Chrome's version 90 and later.

After capturing the screenshot, Chrome opens the editing tools for you. Here, you can alter your screenshot the way you want. It's after this point that you can finally save or share the screenshot.

How to Use the Screenshot Tool in Chrome for Android

To use this tool, all you need to do is visit a site in Chrome and access the Share menu. The following instructions should help you do this:

  1. Launch Chrome on your phone and open a website.
  2. When the site loads, tap the Chrome menu (three dots) at the top-right corner and choose Share.
  3. In the Share menu, tap Screenshot, which is Chrome's newly introduced tool.
  4. Chrome has now captured your site's screenshot. You can preview the screenshot on your device.
  5. At the bottom, you have three editing tools: Crop, Text, and Draw. Tap the one you'd like to use.
  6. Tap Next at the top and then either save, share, or delete the screenshot.

In case you don't see the new tool in Chrome on your phone, enter chrome://flags in the address bar and then enable the chrome-share-screenshot flag.
