I run iOS 7.1 on my iPad Mini (older version). Most apps run OK, but I find a serious problem. When I access my GMail on my iPad 2, I have no difficulty in sending email, but I cannot send mail from my Mini! I get an error message, and all my effort has gone to waste!

I want to leave my iPad 2 at home, and use the Mini on the go (whenever I have a WiFi connection of course, which may be at home, or in the Calcutta School of Music. I never use Internet Cafés).  I compose my message, select the To, and click on the funny icon that looks like 2 dark triangles on their side. Error!

Are you using the native Mail app of iOS or are you using the Gmail app?In most cases being unable to send emails is simply a matter of the configuration. Go into the account configuration and make sure that the SMTP settings (authentication, security/SSL, port configuration) are as required by Gmail – or just compare them to your iPad 2.
