I want to make my own audio files and save them to MP3 format or something that will play on an iPod.
What would you recommend I should use? Thanks!

You may try Audacity, It's free and extended.http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/MP3 output will require a plug-in, you need to follow these steps:http://manual.audacityteam.org/help/manual/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#lame

Audacity is the obvious option, but there's also Wavosaur, which is quite sophisticated and very fast.
