I'm going to fully repair my PC. Can I transfer Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to a USB drive so it can be reused again?

You can use an office installation file and the product key to install MS Office on another computer through your USB drive, but fully transferring the installed program to a USB drive for use on another computer is not really legally possible. This would circumvent the installation and activation of Office onto a specific machine. Laplink PC Mover may or may not work, especially since Microsoft products rely on certain specific installed files and registry items associated with the installation and activation to work properly.

I don't know of any way to move Office to "cold storage", as it were, so it can be recovered later. As Hovsep says, you can move the software with Laplink PC Mover, but this will only move it to another "live" system! You can recover the product code with any of a number of programs (my favourite is Belarc Advisor), so my suggestion would be to find the installation media (CDs or whatever), store the product code and reinstall from discs. If you don't have the original discs, you may be able to borrow from someone else or download from the internet, but make sure the installation media is for EXACTLY the same version of Office. There are several aspects to this:1. Product generation (2003, 2007, 2010, 2013)2. Exact version of product (Standard, Professional etc)3. Type of licence (Home and Student, Home and Business etc)4. OEM/Bundled, retail or MVLA etc. Each combination of the above works with different product codes, so make sure you get the right one!Good luck.
