Hi, I want to keep track of my child using his cell phone. It is a HTC One. I googled there are many phone tracking software out there and I don't know how to choose a tree from a very large forest.

I need a guidelines on how to choose the best phone tracking software.

In response to tracking your kids as being "creepy". As a parent you are paying for the privilege of your child having a smart phone. Why we do that is for many reasons - primary reason being your child's safety. As long as you are upfront with your child and he/she is aware you are checking in on them there is no reason to think this is creepy. Would your child like you calling or texting constantly to find out where he/she is or would they prefer having their location turned on so you can check in on them without their friends knowing? My children chose the later. I use Android Device Manager for my son. I have also saved hundreds of dollars finding a lost phone with this google service.

Well, while there are many tracking applications to do this, you may also want to consider the ethical side of things. We have several articles and even an MUO debate on this issue. No offense but all I can say is: That's really creepy. Doesn't he deserve some freedom?

I would go for "Where's My Droid?" It is just amazing what that application can do and how it is implemented. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/2-easy-ways-recover-lost-stolen-android-phone/http://wheresmydroid.com/
