I have a pretty old desktop with Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit running on it. I want to create a virtual instance so that I can run Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 LTS on it. However, I cannot enable Windows 8 Hyper V client and my BIOS is pretty old with no further update and does not support visualization settings and SLAT technology. My question is, would I be able to configure VirtualBox on it? I have earlier installed VirtualBox successfully on it when it was running Windows 7 64 bit and also ran Microsoft Virtual PC on it.
Hardware details:
Motherboard: Intel Corporation DG41RQ (J2E1) 44 °C
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 @ 2.60GHz 57 °C
RAM: 4GB
Graphics: HP w1907 (1440x900@60Hz)

Apologies...Question heading should be rather the opposite : Can I run Ubuntu Linux on Virtual Box within Windows 8 on my older PC whose BIOS does not support virtualization?
