Can I remove my two 4GB RAM modules and add two 8GB sticks? It's my self-built computer that can support very much RAM so thats not a problem.

We definitely need more information to be sure if your system can handle the RAM you are speaking of. If your motherboard supports the frequency, pin type, and size of GB per slot, you should have no problem. As Oron says, you probably answered your own question, but Susendeep provided the website you should look into.

It depends entirely on your motherboard. Check your motherboard's mannual for maximum RAM, or use the Crucial website.
