I have tried the following methods to remove write protection from a USB flash drive, to no avail.

  • Change or add WriteProtect value under StorageDevicePolicies in the registry.
  • Reformatting the drive using the Disk Management tool.
  • Clearing the readonly attribute from the drive using diskpart.

So how can I solve this problem?

There should be a notch on your flash drive that enables and disables write protection.
