Hi everybody,
I have a few questions about hard drive recovery partitions. If I format a hard drive (just the C drive using DBAN), can I still boot to a hidden (as example brand) Dell recovery partition?
How do I install a hidden Dell recovery partition if I completely wipe an entire hard drive? Also, would this work in an SSD drive?
Thanks

In my opinion, maybe a partition recovery software can help you deal with this probelm.http://www.goshareware.com/partition-recovery.html

You should be able to make an image of the recovery partition and use a live CD to install it back on HDD after complete erase or on an SDD. Uses valuable space on SDD for seldom used files. Why not use program like EaseUS Todo running on a live CD to just erase the system directory (C:)?

If I recall correctly the Dell Recovery Partition should be visible in DBAN and therefor you should make sure to only wipe the system partition. You can recreate the diagnostic tools which are present on the recovery partition but you won't be able to recreate the recovery part of it.

You should be able to make a Recovery disk from the recovery partition, you need to either read your computers manual or post the make and model number for exactly how to do that. If you have a recovery disk then the answer would be yes.
