Downloaded some applications trying to fix AOL page view. Some apps piggy-backed on download and when I uninstalled them, all extensions changed to .lnk. Tried solution re: tools, folder otions, adding shortcuts, but .exe files still not launchable. Anyway to fix this short of repairing registry using a second connected computer?

Double-click on the resulting .REG files and answer YES to the question about importing them into the registry. If the registry editor won't open, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and start Task Manager. Click on File, then hold down the CTRL key and click on New Task (Run), enter 'regedit.exe' (without quotes) and press Enter. Import each of the .REG files.
