If Skype is not showing the mic input then that mic (or perhaps the soundcard) is not seen by the system. There are several places which you should check to make sure that the the mic is enabled. The system mixer is one, the soundcard's own panel (on most PCs there's a control panel called "Realtek", "Sigma Audio" or similar) and perhaps also check the device manager to make sure the sound card is actually working properly.

Bruce's answer is correct, but there's a little snag. Some applications (Skype and Audacity are the ones I can remember offhand) have their own audio i/o controls. In Skype , go to Tools=> Options... and click on [Audio Settings]. You'll find that you can choose the mic. (as well as the audio output for speech & ring, separately) from there. In Audacity , click Edit=> Preferences and click on [Devices], where you will be able to choose the audio input under "Recording".

Open the Mixer applet using the speaker icon in the notification area or open Control Panel - Sounds and select the Recording tab (I think - it's been a long time since I have used XP). Select your preferred input device from the list.

One mic is from USB webcam , and another is through pin socket in front of the box and an audio output speakers( only output , NOT mic input ) is through rear pin socket. But the audio in Control panel shows only audio input for USB and speakers
