I'm new in software engineering and looking for informative software development sites to improve my knowledge of programming on a daily basis. I am learning C++.

For example, while learning HTML/CSS I used websites such as  net.tuts, hongkiat, CSS3 = Awesome, dtelepathy etc.

There is a C++ course by Arkadiusz Wtodarczyk at Mindsy (http://www.mindsy.com). You can start with a free trial for one week (no credit card required), which gives you access not only to this course, but to all courses in their library. After the first week, the price is $29 monthly, but you can pay half of it ($14.5) if you order via Inky Deals (http://www.inkydeals.com/?s=mindsy&site_section=active-deals, deal expires in 20 days) or via BitsDuJour (http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/mindsy, deal expires in 10 hours).I also recommend Udemy. The site is excellent and much, much faster then Mindsy, but you have to pay for each course (lifetime access). There are often coupon codes for Udemy courses at their blog, Facebook, Twitter, ... Some of the courses can be bought for 50-90% of the regular price. The same course, "C++: From Beginner to Expert" by Arkadiusz Wtodarczyk, is $47 at Udemy (a few beginning lessons can be previewed at no cost).Other C++ courses at Udemy I believe you would like:"Learn to Program with C++" by Infinite Skills ($59),"Advanced C++ Programming Training Course" by Infinite Skills ($99),"C++ Fundamentals Part I and II" by Paul J. Deitel ($89),"C Plus Plus Programming" by Hitesh Choudhary ($40),"C++, Short and Sweet, Part 1" by Jeremy Siek (free).

Code.org might be able to help you out with learning different programming languages. It is a non-profit organization dedicated for anyone to learn to code and program.

Do check out this page of makeuseof, these 3 sites which they've mentioned may be rather more interesting >> http://ptab.it/1grKc , the ones I gave might be more oriented to theory.
