Hi all,
I work in a school, and have some very young, special education students who would benefit from access to a computer at home for educational purposes.
- Could anyone recommend a local nonprofit program that donates new or recycled computers to people in need ? They live in Brooklyn, NY.
- Also — giving anyone (especially someone who's not been exposed previously) a donated computer is only the first step. Training them to use it productively — well, I suppose that's also a point of discussion I'd like to raise. Has anyone been involved in something like this ? Would you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

If there's a particular family in-mind, let me know more about their story [rish@sheeshventuresllc.com]..my company likes to get involved in such things when we can.MakeUseOf is definitely a great resource...I'd also point them to udemy.com and even the expansive archives of youtube with free guides on how to do just about everything.

Find your local "freecycle" mailing list and join it. There are computers given away on my local freecycle every day. https://www.freecycle.orgTraining? I'd say all you need is MakeUseOf.com!
