I want to burn music CDs that can be played on regular CD players and have had mixed success. Please tell me what I need to do to accomplish this, e.g. format, speed, type (I've been using CD-R discs), and any other things a computer novice might need to know.

Hi Most CD recorders record on the fly. If the computer is busy and can't get the info to the CD burner fast enough, you'll get a buffer underrun error and your CD will be useless. The first method is to right-click the file you want to copy, then select Send To, CD-R (or whatever your CD writer is called). Of course, you can use your CTRL key to select multiple files then send the whole mess to the CD burner.Preferred Speed: Assuming you have a fairly new PC or Mac that isn't suffering performance issues, set your burner to write to the CD at 16X-to-20X speed (or lower, depending on your CD burner's rating).
