I have some DVDs that I brought with me from London and USA to Mexico. I have been backing them up to a HDD in case something happens.
Well, something happened and I have been trying to make a copy of my DVDs on a DVD-R/RW, but they all keep saying "not permited..." and supposedly my DVD player is a "multi-region" player. I have tried a bunch of programs including: DVDFAB, DVDflick, xilisoft, aimersoft, avs, Ashampoo 10, Nero etc. I can burn the disks, but they don't play on my player!
I have played around with the regin setting on DVD FAB and a few others, but still no luck. Most probably I am doing something wrong. If anyone can help me work this out, please do!

Hello, what program did you use to make the backups?

Well, i have used Ashampoo10, Nero, Imagburn, and a few others to make the back ups! But what i have been trying now is to use 1.use dvd degryptor to region patch the files in "video_ts" folder. 2.burn to disk with ashampoo10 > "burn a video movie from a prepared folder"... it worked with three movies(diner with shmucks,step-up and x-men)....but now it seems that once again im getting errors(Payback, The Expendibles, Snatch)....im following the same plan, any ideas??My cd/dvd drives are set to region 4(mexico)

Hello, the reason you are not able to burn the backups is because they are still encrypted. Ashampoo, Nero, Imgburn, are burning programs, they do not take encryption away. To copy/backup the files you will have to use DVD decrypter and DVD shrink for older movies and DVDFab for newer movies. My advice is make the backup with DVD Fab. Check settings for program and make sure that all encryptions are selected. Make backup to external drive. Then you can burn it with your software of choice without any problems.
