Toshiba satellite L10, formatted and installed all the drivers correctly. I can hear the sound on headphone, but no sound in the built in speakers. Tried Ubuntu Live CD, same problem. Uninstalled and installed the audio driver again, not solved.
What could it be? Any suggestions? Any solutions? Regards to all.

I want to say that it is a software /driver problem but I am afraid it's not. The fact that you experience the same issue when booting from Ubuntu Live CD points to a hardware problem. Is your warranty still good? I suggest you make use of it and send it for repair/replacement.I googled the problem and it seems you're not the only one with that issue. There are some other users with Toshiba laptops that experienced the same problem.- http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/laptop-speakers-not-working/35456.html- http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-9544.0.html- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080907205839AAkv73f

Thanks Bro. Me too think that it is hardware problem of in-built speakers. Unfortunatley the warrantly is gone years ago. Keep fighting with it.

Have you pressed the FN key plus an F key to ensure the sound is on? I would also check any sound managers you have installed on your computer to check that your sound is meant to be coming out of your laptop speakers and not only your headphones.

Thanks Jack, I tried with the default sound manager but no luck, but could n't find a sound manager exclusively for conexant audio. Thanks anyway.
